Ask any expert for advice on selling more through your online store, and you’ll get everything but a unified answer.
Focus on email marketing.
Run paid ads on social media.
Create brand awareness with a large following on socials.
Work with influencers.
Optimize your copy, buttons, and checkout process.
…the list goes on.
You can’t do it all at once (nor should you). We’re definitely not here to tell you we have one, ultimate, start-to-finish guide to every strategy for your ecommerce store.
When we created Jumper, our intention wasn’t to fix a million problems an ecommerce store might have.
We wanted to fix one: a shopping experience that starts on social media, but frustrates the customer because it makes them jump through hoops just to complete their order.
Click on a product link on social media.
Make sure it’s the product I want, then click ‘Add to cart’.
Then go to the cart.
Click ‘Check out as a guest’.
Enter email address, then verify it.
Enter shipping address and payment details.
Review the order once again, then click ‘Complete purchase’.
This is a lot for your customer to go through. The problem isn’t this list of actions; it’s the fact that your customer can simply leave at any of those points in a split second.
It’s why we looked for—and found—the way to make online shopping more personalized, straightforward, and frictionless.
In other words, our focus lies in making ecommerce conversational.
In this guide, I’ll walk you through exactly through how jumper makes those conversations happen and easily turns them into sales.
Heads up: if you want to follow along with the guide, make sure to create your free jumper account before reading on!
Embed a Chatbot on Your Website
Chatbots and automated checkouts are all the rage these days. They’re one of the most hyped up and discussed ecommerce tools.
At the same time, they’re put under a lot of scrutiny.
There’s fear of selling that feels unhuman. The fear of automation taking over jobs while ruining shopping experience for everyone.
However, the data so far tells a different story:
- 47% of consumers would buy items from a chatbot
- 26-36 year olds are willing to spend up to £481.15 with a business via a chatbot interaction
What makes things even better (for us and all the chatbot fans), over a third of consumers would rather purchase via company’s Facebook page than their website, and almost half would rather communicate with a business through messaging apps than email.
If you’re on board with why automated checkouts and messaging chatbots are worth your time, here’s how you can build them right into your online store.
Hop into your jumper dashboard.
From there, your first step is to add some products. In the menu on the left-hand side, click Products, then Add new.

From here, add your product’s name, hashtag, and description. Product hashtag is its unique identifier that also creates a unique link and will allow you to integrate and share individual products on various channels later on.
Below, add product variations and details like price, weight, stock, and maximum quantity.
Next, head to Sales channels > Chatbox from your menu.
Our chatbox solution allows you to automatically load your products and collections into the chat on the bottom right corner of the page.
It guides your visitor through the sale in a conversational way, fully automated, and provides a fast and easy checkout.
To add this option to your page, click Generate code at the top, copy the code and paste it within <body> and </body> tags on the pages you want to activate this widget:

After that, select the product you’ve created earlier and add the generated attribute to your button as shown in the example above.
Your final result might look something like this:

Increase the Mileage of Paid Social Media Ads
We can no longer deny the impact of social media on ecommerce.
Not just because we’re marketers and we want to make our jobs easier, but also because people have increasingly become dependent on social media for a bunch of their purchase decisions:

Facebook definitely still holds a special place in a marketer’s toolbox.
It’s still a leader by the number of active users, and as it turns out, people simply tend to spend more time on Facebook than on any other social platform:

The challenge of this? Organic posts from Facebook Pages average at around 2.6% reach.
If you have 1,000 followers, only 26 of them are likely to see anything you post.
This isn’t to say that everyone should give up on any organic content and only settle for Facebook ads, but a healthy mix of organic Facebook posts and paid ads can make a tremendous impact on your online store.
As many as 26% of Facebook users reported making a purchase after clicking on Facebook ads. They’re still effective, so it’s important to make the most out of each impression you make on Facebook’s feed.
You can make the most out of your Facebook ads by keeping your potential customers on Facebook and reducing the friction of redirecting them to your website to checkout.
We have just the tool to help you do that.
In your jumper dashboard, click Sales channels > Facebook.
At the top menu, select Ad JSON.

In this section, you’ll generate a code for a specific product and add it to your Facebook campaign. Select the product hashtag you want to use for your ad, select the Card type, and click the Generate Ad. JSON button.
Now, head over to your Facebook Ads Manager, create a new campaign, and select Traffic as your campaign objective. In the first section of your campaign setup, select Messenger to drive traffic to.

Set up your campaign as usual, with your targeting, budget, placements, as well as your visuals, copy, and call to action (ideally go with Shop Now).
On the second step of the campaign setup, go to the Messenger Setup section and click Custom Template. Then, click the Get Started button.

Delete all the code you see in the text field (make sure to scroll down to delete all sections) and paste the JSON code that was generated by jumper. Also, make sure to name your template at the top of this window.

Then, you’re ready to launch your campaign! Make sure to double-check how everything looks in the ad preview section and preview your messages in Messenger.
With this Facebook ads integration, you’ll sell your products right inside Facebook and remove many potential hiccups that would otherwise potentially hurt your sales.
Bonus tip: Since you can reuse templates for the same product with multiple ad variations, you can test which copy and visuals convert the most sales!
Drive Your Sales Through the Roof With Influencer Marketing
Influencer marketing has exploded over the recent years, but compared to other, more established marketing practices, it’s still largely driven by trial and error.
There aren’t as many common ground rules. Each company defines what an influencer is differently.
And most importantly, determining the ROI of influencer programs remains the number one challenge for marketers:

There are a few key challenges that come with influencer marketing:
- How to pay influencers what they’re worth, and what if they don’t increase your sales?
- Should you offer free products to influencers and potentially incur a loss upfront?
- How to know if the spike in sales came from an influencer—and which one?
An Influence.co study found that only 32% of the promotional campaign offers influencers receive offer cash. This goes to show how hard it is for brands to part with their budget on something that’s hard to track.
This can be devastating to the relationship between the brand and the influencer.
Since influencer marketing so massively plays to the impact your influencers have especially through their social media, it’s the perfect tool to facilitate and measure sales through their social channels.
Setting this up in jumper is easy.
Just like you were setting up regular products earlier, you can create separate products for influencers; this time, your links and hashtags play the role of a unique product listing made for and used by just the influencer.
Ideally, try combining product name with their name because this will not only make the purpose of the promotion clear, but also make it easy to differentiate between all your campaigns in jumper later on.
In our example, we created a #runwithryan and #runwithemma products for a running shoe promotion.

From here, all you need to do is provide your influencers with unique links they can share on their social channels.
To generate links for your influencers, head to Products > Manage products and click the first button next to your product—the purple Share icon.

Click the Instagram icon. This will generate two tabs at the top: Sharing links and Messenger Link. They will come in these formats:
- Link for Instagram bio/stories and general sharing: https://yourstore.jumper.ai/runwithryan
- Link for Messenger: https://yourstore.jumper.ai/runwithryan/m
Share these with your influencers and define the dates of your collaboration. Once it’s kicked off, you can track all the sales through the Analytics option in your menu.
Use Video to Convert Researchers Into Customers
If you’ve been sleeping on the positive impact video can have on your business, I get it.
Video is intimidating, it feels like a lot of effort, and you have no idea if it will ever bring more success to your online store.
It’s even harder if you feel like video would actually be fun, but you aren’t sure how to turn views into sales.
The good news is that video is the perfect medium for making sales. Some of my favorite data and case studies prove it:
- Video on landing pages can increase conversion rates by 80%
- Shoppers who view demo videos are 1.81 times more likely to make a purchase than non-viewers
- 80% of consumers believe demonstration videos are helpful when making purchases
- 80% of users can recall a video ad that they viewed in the last 30 days
Have another look at these numbers. They aren’t about brand awareness or educational content—they’re incredibly product and sales-driven results made by real companies.
In other words, video can help you nudge those people currently researching your products just enough to get them to take action.
I’ll walk you through the steps for integrating your YouTube channel with jumper and turning views into sales.
Before I do that, here are some video types to consider for promoting your products:
- Do a basic product demo/walkthrough
- Share top tips on using the product
- Show some not-so-obvious ways to benefit from the product
- Showcase the product in real life, with real customers
- Answer frequently asked questions
- Conduct an interview with someone who had great success with your products
Let’s get you set up!
In your jumper dashboard, click on Sales channels > YouTube.
On the next screen, click Connect and follow the standard Google account verification process.

The next screen will include a confirmation of successfully integrating your YouTube channel with your jumper account:

You’re now ready to add your product hashtags to your videos. On that same screen, click the Link #hashtag to video tab.
This is where you’ll see products you’ve created so far (you can always add more by clicking the Products > Add new option on the menu).
First, click the Link to video button next to the product you want to add to your video:

Next, you’ll be able to click on the video you want to add your product hashtag to. jumper will remind you to include a call-to-action in your video—feel free to copy this example and adjust it to your own phrasing:

Once you’ve hit Submit, you’ll see a confirmation that your video is now connected to your product in jumper.
Head over to your video to add the relevant call-to-action to your description, and you’re ready to sell your products quickly and effortlessly on your YouTube channel!
